Steady Energy’s strategic vision is to deliver clean, reliable heat through an application-specific reactor design, the LDR-50, optimised for heat production, with an emphasis on simplified design, passive safety, and economic competitiveness for district heating.
The company’s strategy is to commercialise its LDR-50 heat-only SMR technology through two distinct business models – EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) delivery for larger utilities capable of owning and operating nuclear assets, and the HaaS (Heat-as-a-Service) model for smaller operators and municipalities that are unable or unwilling to take on nuclear ownership.
Central to Steady Energy’s strategy is a commitment to deliver a technology that is cost-competitive compared to baseload heat production technologies from the first commercial plant and that is deployable across a broad range of European and international markets through a scalable and replicable delivery model.
Vision: Steady Energy’s vision is to deliver carbon neutral heat to homes, offices and industry.
Purpose: Steady Energy’s purpose is to harness nuclear energy to safe low-temperature heat.
European district heating companies constitute Steady Energy’s primary target market, with industrial heat users and other heat-producing or heat-consuming organisations representing longer-term opportunities beyond district heating. Steady Energy believes there are substantial additional markets in district heating globally, as well as adjacent applications including district cooling, industrial process heat and desalination.
Geographic expansion is pursued via dedicated in-country capability and targeted business development across additional European and selected non-European markets.
